Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • QLD F/S '97 Golf Mk3 GL Wolfsburg Ed.

    Hi guys,
Bought this little guy from a workmate a few months ago now, was too good a deal to pass up since he was being offered bugger all for a trade in. Im only selling him to fund my project, he has been an awesome daily for me up until now.

    Its a 97 MK3 Wolfsburg Edition, with:
AGG motor and 5 speed manual, approx 233xxxkm on the odo
New tyres all round on 17" wheels - 205/40 R17
New front and rear brake discs and pads
    New JOM coilovers
    New clutch and clutch cable
    New LH inner CV boot
    Brake fluid replaced
    Coolant replaced
    Oil and filter service
    Exhaust bend replaced in rear
    A/C regassed, nice and cold

All new parts have approx 2000km on them only, all were done to ensure vehicle passed RWC.

Only bad thing about the car is the bodywork, was neglected for quite a while, the clearcoat is peeling off and there is a couple of minor marks in the paint, however it is still nice and straight.

Im looking for about $3500 for the car with rego and RWC, which will be delivered on sale.
Feel free to shoot me a message through here, im on here semi daily.

Honestly? I'm not sure, maybe the disc brake rear end and mk3 GTI motor? I really don't know, but it's all badged up as a Wolfsburg Edition so I thought it was a factory limited edition type thing.

Ive never heard of a Wolfsburg edition mk3 Golf . The only limited edition mk3 I know of was the VR6 colour concept .
The only possible thing it could be is a dealer runout model which they named and maybe threw in mudflaps/floormats/tint/remote entry etc , very similar to the Rallye mk4 Golfs .

ha close! according to wikipedia they did, but only in the states
          Wolfsburg Edition
A Wolfsburg Edition was produced alongside other Mk3 "Wolfsburg Edition" Jettas in the United States. Like the Wolfsburg Edition Jetta, Mk3 Golfs with the Wolfsburg package came standard with an improved white/tan dual-tone interior, smoked tail-lamps, premium alloy wheels, remote entry, power windows/mirrors, and an tilt/slide sunroof. The Wolfsburg Edition was only available with the VW 8-valve SOHC 2.0L engine.

lol. I think the previous owner may have just stuck some badges on it.

Never the less, it is a really tidy looking mk3.

Previous owner bought the car as badged, funny to see the interest in it though!
The roof racks are generic Rola bars, again been on the car since before the previous owner.
Looking for offers on it, want to see it go to help pay for more mk1 goodies!

Interesting to see headrests in the back, I thought that was only a VR thing. My GL Golf, and GL Vento didn't have those. Option maybe?

Also, twin pipes that look pretty standard.

Yeah the car seems pretty spec'd up for a mk3, just needs to go to a new home to help me pay for my mk1 bits!
