  • NSW Black 1998 VR6 with 140k Km's

On Car Sales for 7k now...

1998 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF VR6 Hatch Private Cars For Sale in NSW - carsales.com.au

    I'm selling my black 1998 Volkswagen Golf VR6 (2.8L) with just under 142,000 km's

    This car has the following:

    Black metallic paint
Power steering, windows and side mirrors.
    5 Speed manual transmission
16" VW MK4 GTI Montreal II wheels
Factory fitted electric sunroof - no leaks.
Original VW VR6 Leather seats - these replaced the cloth seats that originally came with the car.
Original VW head unit with 6 CD Stacker in the boot.
Original exhaust system with second muffler removed
KW V2 Inox-Line coilover suspension package professionally installed by Tunehouse in Marrickville 6 months ago - $3,000.
New coil pack, platinum spark plugs and leads installed 6 months ago

The following things I inherited when I bought the car over a year ago and wasn't aware at the time, I have put up with them as they are not critical to the running of the car.

    - Heater core has been bypassed, even though the heater works it was burning coolant so it was bypassed.
    - Handbrake light comes on intermittently - I've had this checked and it's only a fault with the light. The handbrake has been checked and it's functioning normally. I've never had a problem with it.

A spare Montreal II wheel and the rear spolier which will be included.

The GTI wheels were imported from the UK and were fitted with new Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 tyres by Jax Quck Fit Tyres in Haberfield. Car has been regularly serviced and runs very well, the engine is smooth. I always filled up with BP Ultimate, 98 RON. This car is very comfortable to drive and is not loud and does not draw unwanted attention.

I've owned this car for just over a year now and have done nothing but look after it and improve it's condition.

    Registered for another 6 months - 09/10/2013

Please only serious offers. Thank you

Car looks heaps clean. Is the 9.5k asking price neg. A fair bit more expensive than any other vr6 on the market.

Better upload some good photos to justify that price tag.

Nice car. Does the A/C work?

Not meaning to sound rude but the wheels aren't that special or rare.

I never got a quote to fix it, but I know it takes guys on this forum the better part of a day to take apart the dash to get to the heater core. The actual heater core is cheap, it's just the labour that can add up.

I'd say that was a fair price - looks mint, 98 with low K's, decent suspension set up and OEM+ wheels (I haven't seen any montreals on MK3's in Aus, not that I've been looking) - good luck man, as always if I had the money I would.
