Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey guys,
    This is an EOI/For Sale Thread (The car IS for sale, but i wont be making ACTUAL sale till start of Feb).
    Sadly (for the Golf, definately not for me) I am starting a Family and moving interstate and just can not afford or justify bringing it back with me. Breaks my heart, but its unavoidable.

    1976 2dr Mk1 Golf LS
    -Metallic Brown
    -Fully Original Interior (In AMAZING condition)
    -Mk2 GTi (1992) 1.8L+5spd Converted (Engineered)
    -Big Carb
    -Converted to 100mm CVs
    -Heat Wrapped Extractors
    -2.25inch Custom Exhaust
    -New (Matte Black) "Stock Look" Muffler
    -Strut Braces
    -Height Adjustable ST Coilovers
    -Mk1 GTi Front Brake Conversion
    -Converted to Plastic Bumpers
    -Badgeless Grille
    -Angel Eye Crosshair Headlights
    -Smoked Indicators
    -13x6 ATS Pepperpots with Near New Tyres

    Positives;
    Interior is AMAZING, bar the unavoidable dash cracks (covered by a mat) its Perfect, Everything is Original, Seats/Carpet/Door Cards all Perfect. Has No stereo, which means no nasty speaker holes anywhere.
    The 1.8 is really really quick, and very sorted. Honestly doesn't need anything else done in my opinion.
    For me, it has all major work done, bar a paintjob!
    Car is very straight and rust free, just needs 2 dents repaired and to be painted.

    Negatives;
    The Paint.... And thats it. Other than a respray its great! The only major work i had planned personally, was a respray in original Metallic Brown (really suits the period). If i was going to get really really picky, in extreme sunlight, the windscreen shows a few fine scratches, and the Driver/Passenger door window seals could do with replacing, but if you were going to respray you would no doubt replace these anyway!

    Car had Passenger side CV replaced under 100ks ago (drivers replaced about a year ago, but car comes with a brand new in box CV)

    You can find current pics and the changes since i've owned it here;

    I'd like to get $5000.
    Pm me here, or text me on 0420 212 342 with and questions or queries. I can take/send any more specific pictures if anyone needs.

    Thanks Guys,
    Zache

          hi mate. car looks super clean! that interior is sweet!
          where are you moving to? could be worth your while to consider transporting the car with you and selling to someone where you're moving (costs accounted for). GL!

                Haha! If I was going to go to effort/expense of getting it to Tas, it would not be for sale in Tas

                        It only costs you 89 dollars plus sleeping to get the car over there so you could do it pretty cheap
