    Hi Guys
Wondering if you could give me some feed back on this - re price.
Haven't had much interest in this that's all.
I have spent close to $52K on this all up and with less than 4000km on the clock and about 9 months old I would have thought $6000 off was pretty good?
Am I being too unrealistic with price or just too many GTI's on the market?

I know you've got loads of extras on your car and it is limited edition 35 but because of VW drive away sale you can get into a brand new GTi from $39,990. VW are pumping the advertising on it in Melbourne so they can get rid of them all before the Mk7 comes out.

Sorry mate but it may be bad timing at the mo. If you can, hang onto it till the Mk6 run out finishes........the problem you will then have is how much are Mk7 Gti's going to be?

Unfortunately, year 1 is the greatest level of depreciation. Some say 30% as soon as you drive off the dealer forecourt. Painful isn't it. It might be cheaper just to keep it & drive it.

Forgot to mention ENJOY IT... It's an awesome car... It's going to depreciate so why not drive it like it was made to be driven!!

            Second the comments above.

A brand new Mk 6 GTI can be had for less than $39.9k drive away.

A portion of your first year's depreciation is the stamp duty, reg, transfer fees, dealer delivery etc that you pay on a new car.

IMO you're pricing is going to need to drop significantly to attract a buyer.

Might be worth just holding onto it and getting some use out of it!

Just had a look at redbook. The ED35 DSG was $46kRRP + onroads when new. You can write off the onroads straight away. The RNS510 might add $500 to that; the tint, ipod cable & non-factory reverse sensors just makes it nicer/easier to sell.

There are 2 others on carsales. Both manuals. 13,000km for $39k & 3500km for $43k (from a dealer, so no title issues & possible trade-in of old car). Add $1500 for DSG & you are still overpriced.

I'm sure your car is 100% perfect & wonderful but it appears you are priced outside the market. If you aren't in a hurry to sell then I guess this isn't a problem.

Thanks for those comments guys. My email notification does not seem to be working so didn't realise there were so many comments here.

Yeah I am not in a hurry to sell, so will keep holding out - but then happy just to leave the ad. there for now as I don't really need to sell. Agree that the first year hit has already been had, so should just enjoy it and drive it and maybe sell after a year or so later. I do love the car but just not getting enough use and seemed exorbitant to have it sitting around doing "Sunday drives" with it.

A bit of a late reply but I personally think it is also too high even though its an ED35 with GPS.

I was looking at getting one around this time last year and delivered from Canberra (possibly this very car) to Melbourne for $46k driveaway. I didn't end up going for it as the question of whether I should go for a stock GTI or ED35 shifted to should I go for an ED35 or demo R, so I didn't end up getting anything.

Anyhow, given the current GTI free on road costs if I was to purchase a car, it would be a brand new GTI as I would need to pay stamp duty on top of the agreed price for ED35 which would be a minimum of $1k.

All the best with the car, they are lovely to drive.

                    Thanks, appreciate the feedback.
                    - don't forget it's got extended warranty, tint and sensors too which I paid extra for

Yes Canberra dealers have a bit of a captive market due to lack of competition so it would not surprise me at all, that a Melbourne dealer could get it trucked to Melbourne and sell it for cheaper than what a Canberra person could pay locally for… Sadly.

They had it up for $52K from memory (without GPS, Ext Warranty, Tint etc), and I beat them down a little bit (they were even prepared to let me walk away - but then I came back a day later or so when I knew they would not go any lower). Recently 9 months later, I have just found out that it was registered as a "demo" (but had less than 100kms on it when I bought it) so they should have done even better... oh well.

I had also looked at one in Sydney (Red one at Barloworld Mascot from memory) but even they could not do any better; so ended up getting this one. I had also looked at another in QLD but again it was the same ballpark; that was all that was around at the time.

Yes they are… Which is why I am happy just to keep it for now and enjoy it, if I don't get any bites.
