  • NSW 2009 Golf 118TSI Comfortline DSG

    Ok, here's the scenario.

I have around four weeks to find a buyer for my car as I have a new GTI on the way. I'd rather see it go to someone that can appreciate and continue to look after it, rather than it get wholesaled to some crummy sales yard. Having said that, the trade in price I have been given is adequate if I can't find a buyer.

Seeing as you guys are all VW fanatics I've decided to enlist your help by introducing Ozram's profit sharing scheme.

Basically, if anyone on this forum points someone in my direction, that actually buys the car, I will give that person a $250 spotters fee. (hopefully this doesn't contravene forum policy)

Details are all on car sales here

    118TSI June 2009 build
    Deep Black Pearlescent
7 speed DSG (new clutch packs fitted recently under warranty)
75000 km's - full service history at VW dealer
    3 months rego
    Black Vienna Leather
    RNS 510 with latest V5 maps & 3920 firmware & voice control
    Sports Pack
    MDI
    Genuine 17" Denver rims

I have spent over $1k on cleaning products in the last 3 years. Immaculate presentation, no swirls, scratches or cobwebs etc. A real head turner.

    Price Reduced!! $24,490 Negotiable
    - No tyre kickers please.

Indeed, it does look brand new. Rims go wheel with it as well (colour probably helps).

How come you're upgrading so early? (Guessing June 2009 build and recent clutch replacement has something to do with it)
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

        Thanks Brendan, Ryan.

Yeah pretty much mate. I just weighed up getting a warranty extension and all the crap that might involve if something goes wrong versus the fact I wouldn't have to negotiate too hard to get a reasonable deal with the free on-roads at the moment. Don't get me wrong, its been the best car I've ever owned and the *only* one to get me enthused about driving. I've been driving for 34 years and until the 118 came along all my cars were just a method of getting from A to B. The little VW changed all that and I still grin every time I drive it. I shall be sorry to see it go, which is why I'd like an enthusiastic person to buy it.

The clincher was finally being able to afford a GTI. I've always fancied getting one, ever since the MK1 back in the UK.

I've gotta say, that's without doubt the best looking 118 I've seen. Great colour / condition / spec / rim combo. Would put many a GTI to shame!

All the best with the sale - whoever snaps it up it is going to be a happy buyer!

Fair call, I'm not sure if I'm able to justify a GTI just yet either, but am hoping my car at least gets me to when the Mk7 comes out.

I also noticed the trademark LED tails have come off - I'm guessing that'll be the first GTI mod?

Yes mate, they will be the very first mod I do, along with the Lakin plate holders. I'm sure yours will be fine Ryan, you seem to have that attention to detail gene too

Can't believe it hasn't sold yet. I almost want to get it but I don't know what I'd do with two 118TSI's
