I have my mk 1 sat and reluctantly i have little time to do the work to get her back together.
So far the engine has been sorted and lower stress bar added, new engine mounts, timing etc. Interior stripped out. I have so far installed an uncracked dash i brought back from the UK and still to put the front window back in.
Passenger floor plate has been welded up with a plate. Rust occured from water entering and sitting in the under floor sound deadening material. No other structural rust at all. This is a common occurance i understand
New roof lining installed but needs to be finished off and glued and front window refitted.
Have new door cards in black. Sound deadening material and the black tar to go in over it. Carpet has been resprayed but front section not done yet.
Rear seats have been retrimmed in black leather and grey cloth inserts still to be collected from upholsterer. Already paid for $600. Front passenger has been retrimmed but still to collect and pay for ($600) Drivers seat not done yet.
All parts to put her back together. Just not finding the time.
Has twin vented gti discs and calipers, mk 2 alloys, new second hand bonnet, aftermarket exhaust, spax adjustable suspension and koni spings, new black 8 piece trim kit not fitted gti trim. Various other parts.
Chrome bumpers, handles, new aerial.
Such a fun car when working. Needs some TLC. Will pass rego no worries once back together.
