Drew, if you're interested (he's in TAS), I can contact Andrew and ask for you. If the answer from him is yes, i'll pass his details onto you.
Preeny, i'd really appreciate if you could get in contact with him!

I have, but a bit unsure about the whole thing. Organising import, and just the general "unknown" of buying a car from overseas... i'm still definitely considering it. By the way, for some reason that link doesn't work?

HAHA. so u got an R32 mmmmmm nice
      check with andrew from
Robinson Automotive you can look his business up on the yellow pages or something.
ask him what it cost and took him to import i think it cost him quite a bit in the end.
so if his is the goods then hit him up for it.
For an car over 3k Id definitely buy a plane ticket and have a look before putting a deposit on it tho just to be happy.
boy the above looks so tempting and so nice, i hope we have more caddys in Aus so they can live and not rust.
But then again Im pretty sure the majority of Caddys in Aus are owned by the older generation that are slowly driving them to death.

There's a bloke down here who just imported one and wants to sell it.

It's a UK car and complete, but other that that I'm not sure about it. If you're genuine, contact Wolfsburg Automotive and ask for Ian (or his number, he might have moved on from there)

Andrew's Caddy is a Californian car, so no rust. It's converted to RHD and 16V, just needs to be wired up.

Go to the newsagent pick up a just cars magazine look and find the yanki importers theirs a hand full around Brisbane talk to them they all fly over a few times a year buy cars and bring em back. Show them $$$$ and they will buy one for you.... A mate of mine had a caddy priced up few years ago buy a importer in springwood think it was 7-8k for a car, freight and import jargon for Aus rego.

Bring it in yourself , my Scirocco cost $4700 to ship inc insurance. You will find a good rust free example in California or Arizona instead of pissing about here. If its + 30 yrs old there is NO duty to pay. Hardest part is getting the import approval from the gov't here without the seller doing a deal with someone else stateside, it can take 6 - 8 weeks for that to come through alone.

The number of dead Mk1's for sale on here with all their latent rust issues ( weather the seller believes it or not ) makes purchasing any Mk1 local an issue IMO.

                    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

                    Cheers,
