Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW 2-Door Mk.1 For Sale $5500

    Hi all,

I have a 2-door Mk.1 for sale, with 4 months rego. It drives well, but has some rust and needs some work. I have been fixing it while keeping it registered. It is completely original. I am after $5500. Can email pics on request. Cheers.

You can upload the photos to some website like Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and then copy the image code to your post.

Remember: that description is relevant to 99.99% of Mk1s (just on varying levels)... Especially on this forum where the definitions of a 'restoration' and 'half-assed-home-respray' are curiously overlapped lol

I can never understand the price debate anyway. If there's a case for someone to sell a tired, stock Mk1 for $5k, then it's great for all of us

Sorry to clutter thread - couldn't help it, though

Unfortunately though, making a 'generic' listing such as this one and then asking a (lets be honest here), much higher than average price, without ANY images, notes etc. to back up exactly what it is... makes the advertisement itself a little pointless...
