Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC FS: 1986 Golf MKII GTI

    HI all,

I got a 1986 Golf MKII GTI imported from UK, for the past two years I spent over $25,000.00 on it, some main feature as below:

Brand new interior. Digifiz speedo,(which is very rare and does not exist in Australia)

    Brand new Drift Bucket seat

17" BBS style rims, new tyres.

    VR6 2.8 210hp engine, with cam shaft

    Aftermarket Coilover, Intake, brake.

The car got much more installed, just a bit lazy to post all the mods and details up.

Immaculate condition, sad to see this go.

No time wasters or test pilots.

    I' m asking $12,000.FIRM

    Price is not negotiable

please send me a PM or call andrew 0404 200 022 to arrange inspection.

    Car also listed on carsales

It says in the carsales advert there is no RWC or engineers cert, does it need anything doing to get these?

    Awesome car though.

it will cost a bit to get an engineers, depending on what needs to be done.

Hi Straight Fresh and thanks for your interest in the car. Unfortunately your left arm will not help at this stage. The money spend o the car is endless. The purchase of the digifiz from france just cost me $1850.00 including of transport costs. Full interior been re-done re-trimmed and all foam in seats been replaced by Garry Blackman in Richmond which is one of the best upholstery places costed me a good $4800. Then coilers brand new 17 'inch wheels and tyres cost me $3280.00. The conversion of the engine done by camden GT1 cost me $12,800.00 with changing the whole front subframe and putting bigger brakes. With the car there is another set of tail lights and headlight as well as two front new grills and two front eyelids. That is just to name a few things. There an extensive amount of work been done by Melbourne Mechanics and a full service in the car. I appreciate your interest all of you guys in the car but the reason why i am selling the car is purely due to the fact that i own another Golf 2 Door with an ABF 2.0l 16v engine, so i cannot keep both. The car has been well look aftered and garaged at my work in an undercover area. The vehicle gets washed on a weekly basis and if someone wants to register the car without the engineer headache which is not that bad as i have already been quoted $3400.00 then the vehicle can still be registered easily with club permit plates. I am happy to do all the engineering and sell the car for $15,500 with 12 months registration if someone wants me too. I have looked and searched into it and it is not that hard to get an engineers certificate providing that the car is safe and has bigger brakes fitted.
