Hey guys,
Recently I purchased 2 MK1 Golfs, intended as a project. While it's been good and all, I just can't do it. I've run out of time, patience and the rest of it and I just need to move on. This whole car modding thing is doing my head in.
One is a Black 4 door 1980 GLD, with an engine swap to a 1.6L mk1 engine, bored out to 1.7L, port&polish, Renault 45 degree downdraft weber, exhaust, mk2 GTI gearbox. Originally was blue, has been repainted Black. Has single light grill, Gotti wheels, full rear brake/rear end overhaul which i've just done (All new brake hardware, brake lines, wheel bearing, poly rear beam bushes, sandblasted and powdercoated rear beam, drums and other hardware). Had brown interior, still remains brown carpet, but swapped for blue vinyl seats and door cards. Has all the wiring run for amp setup.
The respray is still going good! Not a show stopping paintjob, but looks tidy. Couple small cracks in the paint here and there. Body is nice and straight, with a couple small dents here and there.
Car currently does not start, when i brought it the car started and ran perfectly, there has been a fault in the wiring, easy fix!
I'm asking 2'300 for this one, Still has ~3-4 months rego.
Pics to come.
Second one is a 1979 4 door GLD in Silver. It has a MK2 GTI engine and 4 speed box. This was really brought as a parts car but is still a great little car! Starts fine, though is not drivable as it needs clutch cable rubbers and vaccum hose from brake booster to manifold. Car still has original silver paint which has seen better days. Body is good, small dent on the front right, signs of slight rust here and there, but over all, the car/chassis is very rust free! Cars interior is not complete, though does have a MK2 dash conversion. Has blue carpet, with 2 brown vinyl front seats, drivers seat has tears, but passenger is perfect. Has brown vinyl door cards that will come with the car, but will need to be put on the car as i don't have the time.
Has rear coilovers of some sort, but theyre pretty rubbish/bouncy etc. Over all, car is fairly good!
After $650 for this.
Pics will come when I can get them, but if you're interested, shoot me a PM!
-Drew.
