Sounds like my old engine and ECU, which was sold on quite a few years ago! Are they EFI Hardware throttle bodies?

Was sold by catflam in 2008 and fitted to the mk1 which was used as a daily for approx 6 months then just sat around for a few years, if it was urs valver then you can vouch as to how hard it goes

Sounds like it's my old mill, without a doubt - here it was in my old Cupra (where it was replaced with a 1.8T after I sold the car):

Interested to see pics now, as I know someone who'll snap it up pretty quickly

The dressed engine is worth what you're asking without the car..

Good luck with the sale mate.

                        Hey, looks great!

How much power is the engine putting out?
Moving on from my first VW and looking for something with more 'oomph'

not sure on a power figure but 800kg car + worked 2L 16V = more than enough power to hav some fun.

It was sold with a standard ABF head, so this put a fairly big dent in the performance. Even so, it'll have around 190hp, provided it's still in good shape.

Replace the head with a modified one and let it rev to 8k, and it should have around 210hp on standard valves and 98RON

Pretty rapid in a Mk1 in any case - and a hell of a lot cooler than a 20v!
