  • QLD MK2 GTi 1990 builid- very original and good condition.

    No longer for sale!!
Change of heart- decided to keep the Mk2 with plans for a resurrection.

    ***NEW PHOTOS JUST ADDED***

Car has had very little use over the last 3 years as I have been over seas.
    Car comes with:
15in TSW "Stealth" Alloys all round. Some skuff and kerb marks but they shine nice.
    Front 2x 80% tread 195" 55" 15's Yokohama Ecos.
    Rear 2x 80% tread 195" 55" 15's Hankook Optimo.

    Good-
    • Darkest Tint Windows- (1st photo was taken just before the tint was done)
    • Black Widow Alarm with Immobilizer/Central Locking.
    • Sony Explod MP3 Player with 10 stack CD in boot.
    • Sony 6x9 3 way speakers in rear parcel.
    • 4 in in dash speakers semi working- need replacing.
    • Wipers all working F &R
    • New front brake pads
    • New spark plugs
    • Fresh service- Oil/filters.
    • Air-con re-gassed 15,000 kms ago
    • Stainless steel exhaust with twin pipes.
    • Un-modified engine.
    • Reasonably Low K's and lots of fun!

    Bad-
    • Paint is in overall good condition- just a few stone chips from daily driving and car park trolley dings.Scratch on drivers door.
    • A couple of chips in the original windscreen.
    • A few interior parts need replacing.
    • Unfortunately has a little panel damage on left rear door where some one in Brisbane kindly ran in to my parked car in a carpark and then drove off easily fixed.
    • Has typical problems with 2nd gear being a clunky, and has just recently decided to be tricky with 5th gear.
    • Heater core needs replacing- but hey who needs a heater in QLD?
    • License plate light stopped about 1 year ago.
    • The usual rip in Drivers seat side- easily repaired by Automotive Upholstery. Rest of seats are good nic.
    • Emergency light switch fell off, still trying to locate a replacement- hopefully before sale date.
    • Anything else I come across I will add later, but overall this is a great little car as all owners of MK2's know.

I will upload some more photos soon as I get a chance to clean the car and fix this slowwwww Internet!

    Thanks for looking

Hi Walshy, I used to live in Surfers but currently staying with family down at Banora Point, Sth Tweed.
You dont happen to drive a SIlver Mk2 at all? I used to always see one on my way to work at Mermaid Waters.
Will be sad to part with my Gti

No takers? Am I pricing it too high?

Just about to replace a few more parts- engine mostly.
New CV joint, new rear hatch struts.
Working on the car makes me realize how good she is.

If I cannot sell by July I will just have to keep her. Have a garage I can keep her for when we come back for holidays.

MK2's 'seem' to hang around for a while, then get quickly snapped up.
I would have happily paid that price 12 months ago, when I bought mine.

If you keep working on it, it will stick to you like glue! haha

(PS I bought a silver MK2 that used to hang around Southport if thats the one you saw?)

As above, patience is the key. Also try carsales, ebay, etc.

If i had the money i'd bite you're arm off for it. Love Black MK2's.

                      Thanks guys!
I had offers a couple of years back for more than I'm selling it for.
Plus with all the work I'm doing this week to fix it all up. CV joints, brakes, tires, (attempting to fix the gearbox 2nd gear clink)
I'm half-half now! Like I said before , working on the car makes me want to keep her!!
The need to sell it however is stronger the want to keep it!!
I do plan on putting it up on Car sales- I really want the car to be bought by someone on here as I know it will go to a good home

The MK2 world is, well tiny in Aus haha.
I think you and Walshydub are the only two MK2 reps on the Gold Coast atm.

Sorry for more thread Hijacking (free bump though)

Yeah I think I only ever saw one other MK2 on the coast.
There are a couple in Brisbane I know of.

Off to the workshop to try and replace the Gear box oil
..... and maybe some more cleaning and polishing
