I know some people out here.. I could do the engine for you if you wanted to pull it out and get it to me. Not interested in pulling it out of the car, though. In Syd, not so sure really. You'd be better off talking to Seb or someone about that. I really only know of shops that do race stuff.


Rust is pretty damn bad, and it's everywhere. Best thing to do would be buy it and swap all the running gear into your Mk1.

Like all the brakes (which includes all the lines, Mk2 M/C etc), the interior.. If i hadn't bought all the gear already i'd buy it just for the running gear. The wiring is awesome in it too. Simplified like how he is doing mine.

I would love that running gear in my car, but I already have a near mint interior and bolt through vent windows etc.

instead of rebuilding the short motor you could substitute a std low comp 1.8L short motor out of a cabrio (i believe thats what has done all the work to date). The cabrio motors (from US) are low compression and should be under $500

Yes, that is definitely an option. I'd use the head off of the engine in it though, as it has extensive port work.
