  • NSW For Sale: 2008 VW Polo GTI - SOLD!

    Hi Guys.

It's time for me to sell my car in preparation for my new arrival.

    2008 MY08 9N GTI with 35,141km on the ODO

Black Magic Pearl Effect and Interlagos Cloth interior.
There are no hardware modifications, only the APR Stage I ECU which can be set to stock or 98.

I recently had the paintwork detailed by highly regarded Sydney paint protection/detailing firm Surface Tech. Paint overall is in BETTER than new condition, with only a few stone chips on the bonnet, as any car driven on the roads would have.

Interior is in as new condition. No gutter rash or scratches on wheels.

I've had it serviced as per handbook requirements by the Volkswagen dealership from which it was purchased (Denlo at Parramatta). It's always garaged at home and work.

NRMA or other inspection more than welcome.
Registration valid until 14th September 2011.
Volkswagen New Car Warranty, including Road-side Assist, until 29th September 2011.
You could extend this for a further 3 years if you wished.
Car is not under finance, so it'll be a hassle-free sale.

I have it posted up on Carsales.com.au as well, where there are more pictures.

    $18,960 ONO
Please PM me if you're interested and I'll provide my mobile number etc.
I'm in the West Pennant Hills area of Sydney, but if you're genuine, I'm sure we can arrange somewhere more neutral to meet if required.

          Bump...

Just thought I'd point out that this is the lowest-priced 2008 Polo GTI in NSW on Carsales.com.au - despite probably being in the best condition.
Do you guys think that having the lowest-priced 2008 GTI available is an advantage or disadvantage? People are calling me wondering what is wrong with the car...

I thought I was being smart by pricing it competitively?

Anyway - it's still available, and the price is still negotiable...

I don't think it's anything to do with the pricing mate, it's probably not the best time of the year to be trying to sell though, what with Xmas only a few weeks away. Hopefully once the Chrissy and New Year mayhem is over you should start to see some genuine enquiries.

It might also help if you add a comment in your Carsales advertisement about selling the vehicle due to updating to a new Golf, a lot of potential buyers will see that as a genuine reason for selling privately due to the poor trade - in valuations generally offered by dealers. Just a suggestion anyway

Problem is, the new Polo has been released and there is a huge buzz surrounding them. Not to mention their price (albiet, $10k more than your asking for this) is incredibly cheap.

I also found the non-leather Polo's to be worth significantly less than the leather models as many people don't like the look of the tartan interior. I had a lot of interest in my car when I sold it simply because I had the factory leather and sunroof.
Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3

                  Christmas Bump

Hey guys. I've dropped the price listed to $18,960 for forum members.

(I'd done this before, but then the forum lost 6 days of posts).

                      Sold!

FYI for any Polo GTI owners who are looking to sell, I got what I wanted for it, and sold it via a hit from these forums, not via carsales.com.au

Whilst I did get a few people from carsales.com.au who did seem genuinely interested, I got a lot of sms scams, email scams, Car Dealers wanting to buy it from me for their dealership, other magazines and newspapers wanting me to pay to list the car in their classifieds, Mum's and Dad's calling and wanting to buy the car for their children without realising that their children wouldn't be able to drive it (P plater laws, insurance etc), and rude people wanting to negotiate on the phone BEFORE they would come out and see it....

Well done fella. I have a MY2008 Polo same spec as yours but with Leather seats that I will be selling this year, so its good to know the price they can command. I must admit I do have a little 'Gutter rash' on mine though, yours looked in A1 nick, where as mine is B++++
