Regretfully, the time has come to sell my MK4 Gti and upgrade to more of a 'workhorse' type of vehicle. I Started an apprenticeship last year, and it has proven difficult to lug tools etc around. Have managed up untill now, but i really need something i can throw a tool bag into or leave in a shopping centre carpark without worrying myself to death! Have kept it well for a few years now and it would be stupid to run it into the ground.
Bit of info on the car...
Year: Nov 1999
Colour: Standard Gti Metallic Black
Kms: 119,000
Wheels: 18" Audi A8 with new tyres
Has had a VW specialist service history since new (have log books), all 4 tyres are only a month or two old ($1100), and has always been run on BP ultimate over the 3 or so years i have had it.
Other recent mechanical work that has been done is a ECS clutch last year, new rear discs and pads and cam coolant temperature housing (both last month). Front brakes have 85% remaining. Full timing belt service was completed when the car had 90k on the clock (new belt, tensioner, pulley, metal water pump etc). Also put in a new battery in September.
Last service report reported that the car was in good mechanical condition (all belts, hoses, no leaks etc), except for the strut top mounts which were quoted at $250 to replace. Will probably get these replaced soon, just have been flat out with work!
Interior has the standard recaros (black/red), and is in very good condition compared to some that i have seen. Back seat is as it left the factory. Will try and get some pics as soon as i can.
Exterior is in good condition, and i have had all the minor shopping centre dents removed.
Car will be on carsales/tradingpost soon, just had a spare minute so i thought id post up here.
