  • TAS 1977 Golf Mk1 GLS 2 door w/2E

Well it has been a pretty hard decision but I have made up my mind and will be selling my beloved Golf. I have been offered a good car for a good price from my brother which has made my decision easier - moving on to something a little different now.

    The specs:

    1977 Golf GLS 2 door
2E engine (1997 2.0L 8v Seat Ibiza GTi engine - identical to Mk3 GTI engine)
    5 Speed 020 gearbox
Golf Mk3 front disc brakes, rear disc conversion
Set of 5 rare Intra C 15x7 wheels (believed to be to only ones in Aus)
5 Continental ContiSportContact 2 Tyres (front 2 will need replacing fairly soon but the spare is brand new!)
    Extractors
    2" exhaust (chrome tip)
    Custom surge tank setup
    VL Turbo external fuel tank
    Koni coilovers with King springs
    Adjustable front strut brace
    Adjustable tie rods
    Aftermarket air filter
    Iron cross headlights
    Front lip spoiler
    Golf Mk3 front seats
Remote central locking, immobiliser and alarm
    Fire extinguisher
    MOMO Evo stering wheel
Black VDO CD player (working) although needs speakers (wires are all there waiting though)
The whole boot has been covered in POR-15 to make sure no rust will ever try to arrive there!
Have always used 98 octane in this car

It has a small dent in the right side of the front bumper (thanks to a careless driver not leaving a note) but doesn't impair the function of the indicator light and can be easily fixed - just haven't had the time.

This car has undergone a lot of work and handles really well through the bends with a lot of power to push out of them with the up-to-the-task brakes keeping you feeling safe. It gets a lot of looks when driving and has a beautiful exhast note (I will put up a video of the sound if anyone would like to hear it). It currently has no sound deadening and the carpet has been removed (to save weight) but still has a strip of carpet in each footwell. I will get an interior pic soon. Will be a sad day when I sell this car but it has been amazing fun for the time I have owned it and puts a smile on my face EVERY time I drive it.

It is possible for me to bring this car to VIC in the next few weeks as I'm heading over there for a concert but payment would have to be made to me beforehand.

Brand new 6 months Tassie rego.

    $3900

Car running a little rich at the time.

      The 16 valvers were, but the 8v in a mk3 GTI is a 2E.

I can vouch for this car though Goes great, looks great and is pretty damn quick. mmmm...me wanty. Wanna swap for a sports bike Henri? hahaha

it's likely it would need an engineer's cert.

Sorry to go off topic but....
Would you be able to put that video up of the exhaust note?
I own a MK2 with a 2E and Im just curious as to how nice my car could sound.
You have a very stunning car, makes me reconsider whether I like MK1's or MK2's better.

Well sorry for taking so long but I've now added a video to my first post in this thread of the sound of the car. Sorry for the crappy quality - was waiting to borrow a better video camera from uni but hasn't happened yet so thought I may as well just upload this vid.

Hi I was wondering if this is still for sale?

Have you been over to Melbourne yet for the gig?
