  • SA Mk2 valver for sale!!!!

    SOLD

Firstly it needs a re-spray as the paint on one side/bonnet is very poor however it is a hell of a lot of car for the money!!!

I was going to use the borbets for another project but have decided they set the car off and will be included after all.

The car was brought over from the UK in 2002 at a cost of $5K + car $10K. It has 135,000 miles on the clock although speedo also shows km/h. I'm selling this as I don't currently have the space or time with 3 kids and lots of commitments...now the spec.

This car was the last (88') of the small bumper 8v's and came as 16v spec ie lights/wheels/interior/bee sting roof aerial ie everything except brakes and engine. I also picked up a very nice $1400 Alpine head unit while here on holiday that comes with the car!

In 2006 with the great help of Gavin from Custom Code it was converted to OEM 16v power + Custom 2.25 free flow exhaust, 280mm G60 largest mk2 brakes, Weitec GTN coilovers (height adj), Eibach sway bars (22f,25r), Nuespeed front brace, and Borbet A alloys.

MANY new parts were replaced at the same time like wheel bearings, top mounts, powerflex bushes right through, replaced the rad the list is endless.

This transformed the car and made it handle like it was on rails, go like a cut cat and stop on a dime. It had a complete top end rebuild in 2008 after a head gasket went I wanted to be on the safe side and it pulls ever stronger now!

I will put up more pics SOON. It has Rego until the 30/08/10

    SOLD

This is one tight car and damn does it handle and go!
All this needs is a quick splash of paint and it would be perfect

        Few more pics

135,000 miles and I have most service history from new.

GREASY - Oz one is 85hp I believe and this is 139hp. It will crack 100km/h in about seven seconds so faster than a turbo mk4 GTI

The 16V revs 'til it stops, the 8V is like the breathless kid in the wheelchair in Malcolm in the middle.

very very true, i think the aussie ones were 100bhp but 0-100km/h is 10 seconds!!!

a 16v mk2 will eat most things one the road and rev all day long! (7200rpm limiter!)
they are great on fuel too. i will own a valver one day again

good luck with the sale Rob

Big thanks to Lorenz for posting the pics and all the objective comments guys. I've had this car since Easter 1999 and it was a hard decision but I'm ready to sell to someone that has the time to enjoy driving it

Sunroof and electric windows. There is also an oil cooler fitted as valvers run warm and given our climate I thought it was good measure!
