Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD WANTED: manual VR6 in QLD

Ok so have been looking at a few different types of golf, it was the vr6 which got me interested in golfs in the first place and had been the one my heart had been set on for a fair while, but am still yet to drive one.

I know theres a few in NSW/VIC and am quite tempted to go down and have a look, but it is a long way to go to find out its not what im looking for. Theres one up in north queensland too which has like 300000k's and is a 7 hour drive so think i wont be bothering with that one either...

So anyway if anyone is goign to be selling there vr/knows of one at a dealer or something (I've been looking all over pretty much any car site i can find but can only find 1 vr in qld at the moment) or even wants to let a kid take one for a drive it would be much appreciated.

I'm in toowoomba but travelling to brisbane/coast is fairly easy.

Am after a manual, black would be preffered colour but really not too picky

To put out and EOI, you should really express how much you are willing to spend. It will give people a much greater indication of what desire.

eg $4000 will get you a tired early vr6 with high kms which will need plenty of money spent to bring it up to general standard. $100000 will get you a hassle free, basically concourse vr6 with low kms. Any where in between will get you something in between excellent and mediocre.

(people are more likely to consider you a buyer if you wave money at them too)

One would hope $100,000 would get him a lot more than that.

100000 would have to be running some sort of jet engine or something..

im looking at no more then about 8000, but if theres one in an amazing condition with low kms could possibly stretch abit more

although something that hasnt been trashed for less would be nice

Mines on the higher end of the price scale, but considering the km's and the fact that everything thats needed to be changed has been done so already its worth the money. You could easily get one for 7-8k, but you'd likely just end up exceeding 2-3k in just getting it up to scratch. I spent even more than that with mine and just about after 18 months of ownership am I almost happy with it haha.
