Im after another golf, either a mk1 petrol/deisel, in somewhat good condition with rego, or a mk2 gti.

That MkI is hell sweet but I don't see many forking 16.5k any time soon...
Would love to own one like that, but, unfortunately for people like him if you don't want to keep it forever and no longer want it, wanting to move onto the next project, you will find that you have to basically give it away

price range is 2k max guys, just went and saw a mk1 deisel for sale and it was pretty nasty, i wouldnt give him $2 for it, linkages were non existant, roof had ripples, seems to me it may have been in accident.. ahhhh the wonderful joys of looking for a car.

you are not going to get a mk2 GTI for that price, you are lookign for like 4k for one. I am sure you will find a mk1 tho

Agreed; I looked for a while, anything Mk2 under $4k will be junk, require a massive amount of work or a wreck.....I guess with regards to the Aussie 8v Mk2 only around 260 ever came here, half of those will be wrecked or off the road, it leaves a handful of cars (imports aside).

shame its an auto but i would bet it ISNT a 16v
