Golf 1979 GLS
Here we have a sweet little GLS for sale. From the look of it was a one family car till I picked it up. Apparently Grandma drove it all her life then passed it on to her grand daughter whom I bought it off.
The car is a Mexico Beige car with dark brown (Van Dyck) Leatherette in fantastic condition. Looks like Nana only drove with her shoes off as the interior is in excellent condition bar a tear or two to the headlining. Nana Must of had a bit of road rage as the horn button is loose...
The majority paint is still very shiny with a few surface rust spots under the gutters and a few car park dings from when Nana was shopping. The pillars are extremely clean and have had no work done to them. The car has only covered 117516 kms and is as honest and unmodified a golf you will get.
The only points i can fault with the car is the front right fender and the door which are a little rusty. However i do have a clean front fender and door in white off a GLD shell. There is a complete GLD shell going too if the buyer requires it, with diesel tank that bolts in for an efi setup... (see what i was aiming at?) Also the radiator has been replaced with a non standard one which is not linked to the overflow tank properly.
I drove the car on a permit from camberwell to Aspendale and it did not miss a beat. It is much lighter and enjoyable (faster) to drive than my GF's GLD (it pulled to one side a bit). That was the reason I bought this car as I enjoyed driving it much more than my Mercedes 300d. However according to my GF and no man needs more than two cars. I have five. So here is a quick project to get up and running again
