  • TAS Mk1 2door

    hey all,

    1977 Golf GLS 2door
    Beige
bit less than a year Tas rego
    2E (2L 8v from 97 Seat)
    5 speed trans
    extractors and 2" exhaust
    custom surge tank setup
    vl turbo external fuel pump
set of 5 Intra C 15x7 wheels, believed to be only ones in Aus? from what I can gather anyway,
wrapped in Continental rubber 195/50s, bit less than half tread on 2, and bit more on other 2 i think, one never used

    koni coils
    king springs
    thick front and rear swaybars
    front strut brace (adj)
    k bar
    brand new adjustable tie rods
mk3 brakes - larger fronts and discs on rear

    mk3 seats
    sports wheel
    remote central and alarm
    no carpet, no sound deadener
    fire extinguisher

the old girls rides fairly stiff, but gets up and boogies alright.
currently needs tie rods adjusted (steering wanders) since the brake conversion, and the brakes bled as theyre fairly spongey.
its fairly neat but not by any means immaculate, has little surface rust here and there but no real knocks. was being built for performance not looks.

reason for sale is too many cars and just bought another one,
    price: $4500

contactable via email pretty much daily ( antdragonist@hotmail.com )
    or on 0418 378 192

    cheers guys
    - dom.

Last time I saw this it was UBER dumped when Ben had it years back. This car (am assuming it was Ben's from Hobart) he was said to stalk the old dude that owned it until he would sell it to him as it was in such great condition.

It's actually a different car, just has the motor and various other bits from Ben's old car

                Hey Mate

Just wanted to know if she is engineered for the mods. I may be keen, but QLD Tpt can be a bit of a ball breaker when it comes to rego.

Blitzen, I would say you would have to get it looked at in QLD. I know the RTA does not recognise any engineers reports outside of it's certified NSW list, so QLD may be the same.

So even if it is engineered it might not matter, may be best to give them a call and see what they say.

A few years ago I bought a Mk1 out of Tassie with the same engine conversion done. It also had been stripped out, had a half cage and some harnesses installed along with other stuff. I just got it mod plated and roadworthied, then re-registered it as a two seater and I had no issues.

Not sure if its the same now as this was about 4/5 years ago.

hey all, price drop to 3200.
sick of looking at it and im still going to be off the road for a while due to some gnarly knee surgery. being mainly stuck in bed not as fun as it sounds.

so heres some more pics, and yeh dont know about engineers certs in other states, good thing about tassie is that you can bung an engine in (provided not ridiculous) and get rego inspected and off you go. when i bought the car i was living in qld and was purchased in sydney running a gti 1.8, rego inspection was no problem when i got it back up north so im guessing 2L would also be fine but dont quote me on that haha.

anyway, just the tie rods need adjusting still to combat the bumpsteer. i wont be able to get under the car n fiddle for a while so grab it cheap.
                        cheers.
-oh, will need carpet put back in to pass rego inspection im guessing. and horn hasnt worked since ive owned the car lol. front sway bar busted a threaded bolt (drivers side) so have removed, will need another one to refit.

(gti badge from previous owner - )

isnt the prettiest car on the inside, but gets the job done around town - when steering properly.
                        - dom.

steerings fixed, new bushes up front and sway bushes.
back to hooking into corners b-e-a-utifully.
open to offers.. - reasonable ones. if nobody hits correct weight ill just keep the little bugger.

off to sydney for 2weeks tomorrow, will deal with any serious enquiries when im back.
                          cheers.
