  • NSW Mk1 Golf 1977 GLS

With great regret I have decided to sell my 1977 Mk1 Golf GLS.

    REGO TILL 27TH OCTOBER 2009

This has been my daily driver for the past year, and has been bullit proof reliable throughout the entire time.

I am the third owner, it has done 188k’s and has service history from Wolfsburg Motor Engineers up to 140k’s, it comes with a lot of receipts totalling thousand$$.

The engine is a 1.6L (not original engine), that doesn’t miss a beat ,
It had a 5 Speed gearbox put in by the previous owner (Its a professional conversion with a receipt). I have changed the clutch about 2000km’s ago, I also did the gear linkage kit while the box was out so it shifts like it should.

I have also replaced the driver’s side; front wheel bearing and tie-rod/ rack end.

It’s running a 32/36 Weber carby which was professionally tuned last week. It gets about 400kms out of the tank.

Has got new shocks all round with new coil-over inserts (adjustable ride height)
Brakes are good, new rotors and pads on front,

The body is original, with original paint, and some touch ups. Rust is minimal, some spots of surface rust on the roof and bonnet (typical golf thing), and some in the bottom of the front guards. Tiny bit in the drivers A pillar, I repaired the rust under the windscreen seal and replaced the seal so it doesn’t leak anymore. The rear hatch seal will need doing at some point.
Interior is very original and tidy, driver’s seat vinyl is a bit split, the dash has a few cracks (although not very noticeable) and the roof lining has a tear. Everything is stock except the cd player and speakers. I will however throw in a pair of MINT matching front door trims to bring it back to original. Parcel shelf is uncut.

All the electrics work Everything from the courtesy light to the windscreen washer......

This has been an awesome daily and will be missed
    $2000 o.n.o
