  • QLD WTB: Bora V5/V6, VR6, mk4 2L Brisbane

    Hey all,

I'm after any of the following. Prefer Brisbane unless the car is well known to be in great shape. Logbooks/service history is a requirement. Flexible elsewhere, so don't be afraid to post what you have.
    • Bora V5 MY2002 up
    • Bora V6 4motion
    • Golf VR6
    • Golf mk4 2L

    Thanks
    Tim

Also looking at the Peugeot 206 GTI. They start at around $8k and seem to be pretty good value for money.

I'm going to test drive one on Saturday arvo.

Anyone had any experience with them?

Yeah Peugeot - French, say no more

OK just my own experience, mainly with Renaults, they aren't the best of cars, not as relaible as a VW and the build quality is no where near as good.

Look for a vw and you will get a better car for your more. Especially in the 2nd hand market older than 5 years anyway.

There are so many 206 gti's for sale compared to vr6s + boras. I'll see how the inspection goes anyway, might check out a Bora at a dealership if I have time too.

Just seeing a private one, but after reading the above I guess it'll be for viewing reasons only probs.

In terms of 2nd hand dealer vdubs, is there anywhere in particular I should have a look? They don't have much online.

Look the French cars aren't all that bad.. I drove a 206 GTI while on my learners before I got my Bora and it was a fun little car to drive. We had a 607 in Italy and didn't have any problems with it (ok, so it was new).

However my cousins here in Brisbane had a Laguna for about 4 years - squeeze it and lemon juice would come out..
