I am happy to ask (nothing ventured, nothing gained), but based on what I have read, I am very wary to go back to Alto Northshore. I could claim some validity from Alto, as they did my first 6 regular services.
Is it a case of if rejected by Alto, go to the next closest VW Service and try my luck?
OR go direct to VW Australia in the first place?

I sent off an email to VW Australia requesting a Good Will Warranty claim to replace my 8 year old Mechatronic motherboard.
They first requested me to take my Tiguan to a VW dealer to perform an Analysis. That cost me $222.36 ($200 + GST + Credit card service charge)
They confirmed my scan diagnosis.
First McCarroll's VW wanted my Logbook to copy and send to VW Aust. When I presented my logbook showing 6 years of Alto VW service stamps and 2 services from Tyrepower Artarmon, they then said the logbook was not enough. VW Aust. requires all my actual itemised service receipts from Alto VW and Tyrepower.
Fortunately, I have kept all these going back to the original purchase receipt. I went back home and returned with these. They scanned them and forwarded these to support my request for a Good Will Warrantee repair on my 2017 Tiguan.
3 weeks later, VW Aust. advised McCarroll's VW that they have agreed to cover the full cost of replacement of the Mechatronic motherboard and the labour to pull out the old unit and put in the new one.
After 6 weeks patiently waiting, a part arrived. Unfortunately it was the wrong part put into the "right" box.
Because of VW's "stuff-up" I requested a "Loan car" whilst waiting for the part to arrive from Germany. VW Aust agreed and I now have the unrestricted use of a Hybrid Rav4. The Rav4 comes from Eurocar and apparently must be renewed every 2 weeks. (Authorization has to come from VW Aust.)
(I still prefer my Tiguan and cannot wait to get it back.)
My Tiguan is patiently waiting at McCarroll's VW for the correct part to come in.
VW Aust has done the right thing by me.
I will give another update when I get my beloved Tiguan back.
