Is it possible to swap the internals from later style (with end cap) O2M to earlier one (no end cap)?

is it a big job? special tools? or really straight forward and not a specialised procedure?

I'm no mechanic but will tackle changing over a CV, alternator,,,...

New never used. The nut / piston / spring were removed and then put back in, as i was planning use this with uprated fuel pump internals upgrade but during the process my biggest wrench (22mm) was not big enough to remove the electrical connector brass bit on the factory HPFP... and Bunnings was closed...
