So my wife and I are looking at getting a new car in 2 months and we've pretty much settled on a VW. We test drove the Golf R and fell in love. However our budget has since changed (now only $35k) and we want to know what your thoughts are and what discount we can expect to get....

I'm Nathan and I drive a 2011 MK6 Golf GTI Adidas edition. I own an alloy wheel repair company in Mascot which keeps me busy Monday to Friday. Looking to find like minded people in Sydney with a particular appreciation for all things VW.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering if it is normal to see such high petrol consumption during the initial start up and some short distance driving in the GTI MK6?

I live very close to work (approx. 5 mins drive) and know that I shouldn't be driving the GTI, but Melbourne weather...
