    So thinking it might be time I replaced the timing belt on my 10yr old and only 30k T5 tdi340 103kw (one owner)
    Given the low mileage was thinking just replacing the belts, not waterpump, tensioner idlers and seals at this stage what do you reckon??
    Also should I go genuine VW? Belt $240...

    My Passat alltrack is due for a major service and my mechanic has advised that he could either use Dayco or gates timing belt kit which has a water pump included.

    Does anyone have any experience with the two brands and which one would be the better one to go with?...

    My speedometer is +5kms out

    I drove a lot this weekend and noticed that my speedo is consistently reading 5km over my actual speed - according to my Garmin GPS and two "check your speed" gates.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something that built in or could there be another cause?
