Don't be fooled, VW are giving these away to owners in the UK and perhaps Europe and the only reason they would be doing that is to harvest data. I think it will work without the network but I can't find the app in the Google Playstore...

I've installed apps via Android Auto using a cable for connection. No probs thus far. However, to access the apps after unplugging the cable - I am unable to access. Does this mean I have to always have my phone cabled to the media unit to access these apps ????
