My driver side ballast is dead and i purchased a new one but the new one is 12v 35w and the oem is 1200v 35w (according to whats engraved on the ballast itself). Are they the same?

Also i realised after changing the new ballast, my driver side is brighter than...

I've got a Passat B6 that has stock 55w OEM Halogen globes for high and low beam.
Anyone know whether I should be selecting a 35w or 55w HID kit to upgrade?

Does 55w OEM = 35w HID ?

Done a Google but cant find anything helpful..
