Hi everyone 
I am hoping you can provide some hastily advice.
I inspected, drove and left a deposit on a 2006 manual 1.9 TDI T5 Transporter for sale through a used car dealer yesterday (I have till 5pm for the "cooling off" period).
The vehicle is perfectly suited to our needs (being a very tidy/clean TDI with 3 seats up front),
BUT…
It has 208,000 on the clock, is due for a service and the dash is showing 2 warning symbols:
Glow Plug Warning? (coil symbol)
Engine Malfunction? (engine symbol)
The dealer is having it serviced (by his preferred repairer) before I take delivery and has states that the warnings will be reset.
My concern is that the warnings will be reset without the cause being addressed (is this possible?).
I am prepared to have timing belts/ water pump etc done by a local VW specialist for peace of mind, but I would like to know what you all think.
