Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    New Generation VW Polo spy pics...

    hey all,

    i've just bought the November issue of Wheels and they have a small article of the Next Gen Polo with a pic. i will take a pic and post up the article tonight unless someone else has the mag and beats me to it. from the pic it looks to be very similar to what we have seen in renderings, keeping that scirocco looking front setup, and the entire grill appears to be the honeycomb pattern, so no more group buys thanks adam!!

                  I'd wait and see what the new one looks like 1st. Latest spy pics look a bit different to those here. Also not happy with the 1.4 motor speculated for the new GTI.

                  I'd much rather have preferred the 1.8TFSI motor from the A4; it will be much more tunable.

                  1.4TFSI can go to 150kw/290NM with a chip (which is OK) but you would be pushing its limits much sooner than the current 1.8T or the new 1.8TFSI.

                          The size will be the same or close to the current Polo.

                          Agreed but unfortunately with stricter emission laws the 1.8TSI may not make the cut as VW try to take the CO2 average down.

                            FWIW, the production date on the current model Polo ends 31 May 2009. (According to VW hobby page anyway.)

                              phaeton, that first pic is the one from the magazine. no need to post now. sorry i haven't got around to it, i'm still smashed from indy ....and what a weekend it was! ryan (blitzen), i have some F1-11 and some air-force chopper pics for you soon. there was a fighter chopper there as well but did not get pics.
