Q1: Park Lights
Is it possible to have the ignition (while not driving), and have the park lights off?
Q2: Power from USB Port (compartment left of driver)
When I plug a USB device that needs power (not data) into the USB port, power is supplied at all times. e.g. for a USB charger for AA batteries, it works whether the Ignition is on or off, or whether the Media Centre is on or off.
However, when I try to charge a phone (I've tried two) it's finicky, meaning: if the ignition is off and I plug in the phone, sometimes I have to turn on the Media Centre or the Ignition to get charging to start. It seems the phone needs a trigger to start charging. Why is that? Is there some sort of digital handshake going on?
