Hey guys
I'm a newbie so please let me know if these types of posts are okay or not...
Basically, my first car was a Volvo 740 GL but that died last year - transmission went and to replace it was going to cost more than the car was worth. So I've been hunting around a bit for a new (second hand) car, and came across this one.

I just wanted to know what some of you experienced Passat owners had to say about it. Would it be worth a look, or given that its already done 164 000 kms, is it going to cost me an arm and a leg to run and maintain?
I am a student, so if parts etc. are going to be expensive that's not ideal. I don't drive a whole lot, but obviously if the car is excessively thirsty that's not great either.
I just really like the look of the car, and always liked VWs in general. My dad has driven an Audi A4 of a similar vintage (I believe that they having many similar characteristics) a few times when his car was being fixed, and it seemed like a really nice ride.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
