Thoughts about tyres
I've done 16000KM in my 3.2L Passat. The tyres are the std. Continental Sport Contact 2 (17"). I keep the tyres at about 2.7 bar - any more than that and I feel I am bouncing along the road!
I've noticed that the front tyres are starting to make a rythmic road noise at low speed and sing like hell at 110kph+. They have worn quite a bit which is to be expected I guess with a 3.2L FWD and probably explains the noise symptoms.
Does anyone have suggestions for a quieter replacement tyre with a softer ride? Given that I drive mostly round town or motorways, I am willing to give up a bit of sports performance for quietness and comfort.
