So I had the BT option installed when I bought the car. It was an EGO TALK (Parrot??) system IIRC. It was always crap. After a couple trips to the manufacturer I sorta gave up and resigned myself to it.
When I had the 60K service I complained about it again and they replaced it FOC with a new system. The new system works a treat No fancy bells or whistles like displays etc. but it DOES work.
