Has anybody replaced their dome light with this OEM replacement part? There is a e-shop that sells this part in Florida for USD99. The seller has advertised it is also compatible with the Golf/Jetta Mk 5 & 6's as well as Tiguan's.
I have this lighting effect in my other car and found it to be pretty useful at times. The seller say's it is "easy to fit in 5 mins and is also plug & play" which may be the case for VW's assembled for the North American market but maybe not here. Not really keen to buy it if I have add extra wiring.
I eventually bought another second hand one and installed it, sadly it was as I suspected, not plug and play. However I managed to get it to work by running a grey extension wire from the optional LED light fitted on the main cigarette lighte socket in the centre console to Terminal 1 on the 6 pin dome light socket? The effect is great and the map dome light switches are also illuminated giving it a classier effect
