Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • GTi starts slower when hot than when cold.

Apologies if there is another thread.

Basically i have a 2011 Mk6 GTi. Recently I have noticed that the car somewhat hesitates on warm start ups. (By hesitate I mean it cranks fine but just sounds different when it fires. The needle somewhat jerks as the car revs upon start. The car idles perfectly fine after, hasn't stalled.)

On a cold start up, it's normal operation.

The jerking of the needle for me seems to point to a LPFP issue or something of the sort. I've had my intake manifold, sparks and injector seals replaced a couple of months ago if that helps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm fairly young and have already forked out a fair bit just in repairs [emoji28].

Happy to send a video if need be.

    Peter
