  • MKVI ownership thread - who drives what?

I have not spent much time in the MKVI forum, but now the model has been around for a while, it is timely to ask what is becoming the most popular choice in this model.

If I had to buy today, I would get 118 TSI, despite loving out MKV TDI. When/if the GTD comes, that would then become my choice.

So vote in the poll and we shall see who chose what.

I don't have a MKVI but want to see the results!

Got my lovely white Comfortline TDI on Friday.
        Great to drive.
Anyone know how to leave the average fuel economy on for the life of the car? It only seems to keep it on per day.

There should be a button on the bottom of the windscreen wiper controller (someone confirm this?) which switches between daily and life modes.

I got my 118 Comfortline last Wednesday. It's gorgeous, and drives like a dream. Getting used to all the bells and whistles, but absolutely love it!

I saw five new models yesterday (Syd. Eastern subs. Golf is easily the most popular model of car around) four silver and one Shark Blue. No other red ones!!

In ye olde Mk V if you push the OK button on the steering wheel it will change.
In my car it will come up with a little 2 when it is on the lifetime/since last reset mode and a little 1 when it is on the current trip mode. If you switch the engine off for 2 hours or more then the current trip mode will reset.

Should be the same/similar in Der Neue Golf

Thanks mtj007 and Yevvy. I'll try your suggestions tomorrow.
I am really amazed at the fuel economy. Usually you're lucky to get the claimed figures but I'm so close every drive.

Cheers, the OK button does the trick.
But I must remember to look at where I'm driving instead of everything else I can look at IN the car!
