I own a V GTI, APR s1 DSG (who doesn't?
) So today, in second gear up a hill one of the wheels managed to find a rough patch on the road and lose a bit of traction. In response, the car cut power to the front wheels, to the point where I almost needed an airbag to stop my face smacking against the steering wheel.
Although I'm still quite hesitant with the car, and haven't even taken it much past 5000 rpm, I've had the wheels chirp a bit under load every now and then (actually MUCH less wheelspin than I had expected coming from a golf v fsi n/a to the more powerful, and chipped, gti). Anyway, nothing really drastic, but I haven't felt the computer cut power so violently as this.
Irregularity? or is it something I should mitigate by leaving it turned off? I actually much prefer it left on, as I never really hammer a car to the point where I need the ASR off.
