Just bought a GT Sport TDI in Melbourne, to get it registered in South Aust I needed to take it to the Dept Transport Inspection station and the buggers rejected the inspection becuase the engine number is covered by silicon, apparently its done by VW themselves but I have to clean it before they will pass it, but I cannot find the jolly number, does anyone know where it is located.
BTW they also rejected the window tint becaus eit measure 28% light and SA requires 35% to pass so I have to get the tint removed, not a biggie apparently as the tinting crowds steam it off andf its only $60, but buyers beware these guys are uncompromising and have the final say as I don't belive there is any recourse like an independant test.
