Hi all,
Just a quick question. My gearbox died on my 1999 1.6sr rally the other day and I was thinking of doing an engine conversion as the mechanic told me it would cost $2k to fix. I gave that up as a bad joke after researching it more thouroughly. I've got the car home again and am going to attempt to fix it myself (have done a clutch in a mini - can't be harder than that!)
I have found a reasonably priced Audi A3 gearbox and was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would suit?
The codes I could find on my gearbox were ADB3 02K301211A and on the Audi gearbox the codes were DLP089097 14 7. Everything looks the same, but I don't want to get something that later wont fit.
