So my car has developed a slight knocking sound from the front left corner, and after pulling the suspension apart it all seems to be fine, but there is slight ammount of latteral play in the disc, I am assuming that this means that it is time to replace the bearing? Dont suppose anyone in melbourne has the VW tool to pull out and press in the new bearings for a VR6 hub, or knows somewhere that will do this for a reasonable price?
I have seen a couple of DIY's on VWVortex, even this one without a press VWVortex.com - DIY: 2.0 Front wheel bearings/hub, without press but I not really looking to replace the hubs as well, and dont want to take the chance of ruining my current hub and doing more damage.
