I drive a res... I mean 94 burgandy vr. Actually I want to spray the black bit on the front bumper and all around to matching colour. Just want to confirm which year model started to have matching colour??I see some are with matching colour and some are black like mine. The black all around maked the car look old.. Should I match the all around ? need suggestions.

I believe all models up to early '96 had the textured bumper tops, whereas '96 onwards have the colour-coded bumper tops.
Leave them textured! Adds character to the Golf
Have the grille painted though.

Well, maybe Res
I have taken to calling my car 'The Raccoon' lately because of the headlights. One of my mates pointed it out to me and I can't get it out of my head........

With the colour coded bumpers, the wheel arch flares were omitted.Originally posted by Soundofav6 View Postyeah maybe I will leave it as it is. I guess no point trying to be something I am now.. Find the exact code for your paint in the boot. I went to VG Auto at Girraween (Blacktown area) and they were able to mix the paint for me and put it in an aerosol. With small parts like the lower grill, using aerosol spray is sufficient. Mine came out great. Remember to get clear too.Originally posted by Soundofav6 View Postactually could you/ any one recommend a brand of paint ? or which once I should avoid ?

vee_dub has a pearl-effect silver on his Mk3 GL. Looks damn good; hard to believe it's factory paint!
