Hi all I recently bought a 95 golf from fowles auctions in melbourne
3 days after buying it, it wouldn't go into first gear and the speedo and rev counter decided to stop working
gears was easy new linkage bushes fixed the problem
cluster was more of a drama lots of hunting and i came to the conclusion i had the symptoms of the dance of death petrol temp ect gauges working fine but speedo and rev counter not rev counter was flickering away moving a mill or two up and down at zero speedo completely dead
the problem is now fixed thanks to automotive instraments in mulgrave Vic
they said it was a fault with the microprosser in the cluster i removed it and dropped it off two days and $190 later it was back and working perfectly
i got to keep my origional km's and diddent have to fork out big bucks for new parts
very happy
they can also adjust the km reading to match your cars authentic kms if you get a new cluster for $150
also not a bad option
anyways thought i better share my experience
