I am in the process of a 1.8 rebuild and have finally got the block back from machinist, I have fitted crank,piston etc etc. I went to fit the front seal (small end not big end) and was a bit concerned.
I was able to press fit this seal by the use of just my thumbs, seals came from GAP (victor reinz) same seal for intermediate shaft needed coaxing with mallet. But the front seal was quite easy, I could then press it out again just using my thumbs.
I am worried that it may come out, I know it shouldn't be under pressure but I am not sure.
Anyone with any insights to this
