Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Unable to start while hot.. I think?

Had a random thing happen today when I tried to start my car. It was 28C and the car was sitting where it normally does out in the sun. The battery was reading normal and the interior light was on. Went to turn the car on and it kicked once before stopping. I tried to start it 5 more times but only the starter kicked and it sounded like everything was working but not getting fuel.

I've had the fuel pump fuse blow before and it sounded the same this time but being already late for work I decided I'd to just leave it and take another car.

When I got home I got in the car and turned the key and it kicked once and started straight away as it normally does???? Turned it off again and again started normally. So basically, has anyone had this happen before? Could the motor of been to hot? Freak occurrence? or what?
