  • Seals and scrapers?

    Hey guys,

I awoke today to find my rear drivers' side footwell enjoying a bit of a bath. The scrapers and seals have a few gaps from shrinking, and it's suddenly looking as though she'll need a proper teardown and rebuild 3-5 years ahead of schedule.

Biggest prick I'm having trouble sourcing (apart from a straight front panel, cheap headlining/carpet, sway bars and opening 1/4 window seals...) is door and window seals for 4 doors mk1s.
According to vwheritage, T25 scrapers fit - Cheapest I've found is 16 pounds (from T25 Cab door Scraper right inner, left outer. 251 837 703 [gc1562] - £16.95 : German Camper Company Ltd)

Does anyone have a reasonable local source? I've seen a couple of places asking 60$ AUD each (and i'll need 4 left, 4 right... ouch)
I need to get a proper look in but I'm guessing the felt guides and, well, 80% of the stuff will need replacing

Also came across a guy on vwvortex who claims you can use mk3 scrapers, and that they go a little deeper in so are slightly better at holding the glass when it's all the way down. Has anyone here tried this or any other ingenious fix for seals?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help
