Hi Everyone,
I have recently replaced the car battery in my VW Golf Mk4 and the security code of the factory fitted Eurovox radio/CD player Model MOD4980VW1 needs to be re-entered.
Unfortunately I no longer have the original code written down anywhere. I have spoken to the VW dealer where the car was originally purchased and they claim that do not have a record of the code either, but they will charge $100 ++ for labour to remove the radio and apply to the local Australian Eurovox distributor Go Technologies to obtain the code on my behalf (which I can do myself for $22)
I have since arranged for the radio unit to be removed and have obtained the serial number myself which is required to obtain the security code.
Can anyone please advise me whether it is possible (and how) to obtain the security code for free to save the $22 that Go Technologies are charging? Can anyone kindly assist?
