Retrofit RCD510 in place of RCD310
Hey, a question ....
There's a few RCD510's for sale, if i was to buy one and hold onto it a short while then install it - can I go to a VW dealer (either the one i bought at or another) and get them to install it ?
Or can I purchase it from them and get them to replace the 310 ?
Is the RCD510 exclusive to the Dynasound system or can it work with the base setup, and will it still talk to the MFD ?
Also, will the 510 be covered by warranty if i purchase it outside of VW and if there's software updates, can that be done by me ?
I have the MDI being dealer fitted also (not sure if glovebox or middle console) - how would that affect it ?
I'm also guessing that I'll have to let insurance know about the updated radio at the cost I paid for it.
