Parts needed to install LSD in 02A/J gearbox

Obviously you need the LSD
But do you need a new speedometer driver gear + bearings as supplied in this kit when installing your LSD?

VW Performance - Autotech Sport Tuning: 02A/02J DIFFERENTIAL INSTALL KIT

I saw in one installation guide that the speedometer driver gear was difficult to remove from the original differential in Hondas and was wondering if this is the case for VWs.
